OLYMPICS4ALL AND IN COMMON SPORTS GOOD PRACTICES DISSEMINATED IN INTERNATIONAL PROJECT

“During three days (12-14 July), the Municipality of Vila Nova de Cerveira hosted the European project EFOF - 'European Future Is Our Future', which was attended by 25 foreign people from the municipalities of Dalgopol (Bulgaria), project coordinator, Aksakovo ( Bulgaria), Osilo (Italy) and Nova Gorica (Slovenia).

Under the theme 'My European Town', the opening of the meeting, on 12 July, was attended by the senior athletes from Vila Nova de Cerveira and Sanxenxo (Spain), which are in the project IN COMMON SPORTS. The morning was dedicated to the presentation of the projects Olympics4all and IN COMMON SPORTS, showing how far the project engage local citizens and testimonials. It is noteworthy that the foreign delegation from the municipality of Aksakovo, is part of the project IN COMMON SPORTS, and also had the opportunity to show the impact of this good practice in its territory.

In the afternoon, around 80 Portuguese and Spanish athletes, under the guidance of technicians Nuno Silva (Vila Nova de Cerveira municipality), Nacho Rebollo (Sanxenxo municipality), and José Maria Carral (University of Vigo) in some of the modalities of Olympics4all, namely basketball, volleyball, football and boccia.
The simulation of this games was a significant contribution to the wide and sustainable cooperation that is intended to be established through cultural exchange, sharing of ideas and good practices between local authorities allowing the expansion of the concept of "Open Cities" of the EFOF Project”.
